Hi and thanks for visiting my site,

This is an explanation of how I got completely screwed over in court and it goes on to explain what really happened, as opposed to the rubbish that the local and national press printed about me and the trial.

I’ll try not to miss anything out, but I’ve been dealing with all this for well over a year now, so I’m probably going to forget that you don’t know certain things about this case. If anything you read here doesn’t make sense, or if you have any questions or comments about this, just ask me. Don’t assume. I’ve got nothing to hide and will be happy to answer your questions. I can assure you that the truth is nowhere near as embarrassing and difficult to deal with than all the rubbish that was printed in the press about me!

It really matters to me is that you all know the truth about what happened that led up to me being portrayed as a perverted sex criminal in the papers recently. If you know me, even just a little, you know that I am obviously not that, but you probably want to know why the papers printed all that stuff in the first place, right?

I originally kept all this quiet because quite frankly I expected common sense amongst the judicial system to kick in at some point and for all of this to simply go away. How wrong I was. I would’ve told all my friends about this a lot earlier and would have if I had known that things were going to turn out this big and this bad.

Before I start, I just want to thank you all for the support I’ve had over this past couple of months or so from my friends, family and even complete strangers, who have all had the intelligence to question what was wrote in the papers about me, and to realise that about two thirds of what was written were either exaggerated versions of the truth, blown all out of proportion, or just outright lies. The people that believe I got screwed over in court outnumber the people that think I got what I deserved by a factor of 10 to 1, so it’s good to know that it’s just the legal system and the press that has gone mad, not the actual people of the nation.

The 7 or 8 journalists (of which 4 or 5 used 2nd hand information as there were only 3 journalists in court), that wrote all those nasty things about me would like you to believe that they represent the voice of the nation. We know now that they do not. These press scumbags have far too much reach and power, and I hope that one day there will be a law to prevent them ruining people’s lives in the way that they can. I wouldn’t have minded as much if they had at least got their facts right, but when they start writing complete rubbish about you it gets very frustrating indeed. Of all the papers and media that featured my story, only one reporter from one local paper took the time to ask me what my side of the story was, and even he insisted on starting his article by calling me a pervert.

I shall address some of the specific points from the press that I did manage to read at the very end of this article. I didn’t read them all though, because this went much wider than I ever thought it would, reaching national papers like The Sun and The Star, meaning that millions of people have read all this crap about me, leading to me having to write out this detailed explanation of what really happened in order to some way clear my name.

Why was this national news? I really don’t know. Slow news day perhaps?

Or maybe it was because the press felt they could make a juicy story out of my situation that would help them sell more papers? Splashing “Camera Pervert Facing Jail” across the front page certainly couldn’t have harmed sales.

If I had a fair trial in the first place, and the judge and jury had heard all the facts about what happened, instead of all the lies and embellishments that the prosecution came up with in order to convict me, then the press wouldn’t have had that much to write about.

You can totally get the wrong idea if you don’t know all the details of a situation. For example, let’s say you were sitting in a bar and a woman came in, walked up to some guy and began punching him to the ground. Your first impression of the situation might be that the woman is a crazy psycho that needs to be locked up! You might feel sorry for the poor guy that is lying on the ground, blood pouring from his broken nose.

BUT, what if you later found out that the woman was the man’s wife, and she had just found out that he had been sleeping with her best friend the night before? Do you still feel sorry for him?

As you can see, the details, or lack of them, massively effect how something is perceived.

This is how I got screwed in court by my prosecutor (Tim Gittens) and the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service). Gittens manipulated the details and added lies and his “opinion” to sway the jury in his direction. My defending barrister failed to counteract that with the facts and details that the jury needed to hear in order to make a fair judgement. Why did he do that? I’m really not sure. His strategy was to not be aggressive and to play it safe, but I think that totally backfired on him and I have to pay the price for that.

Next – 2. What actually happened?
